One thing that I love about Tennessee is its serious redneck factor.
Doublewide trailers serve as hair salons (usually with pretty amazing billboards -- see above).
And children learn about Dolly Parton fractions: big on top, small on the bottom.* They tell the kids it is because she has big HAIR and small feet. Sure.
*Frannie learned about this gem of a math analogy while tutoring “down the mountain.” Frannie, a serious Dolly-Parton-hair sized thanks for sharing that one. I know you are busy but I really think you need to blog. ESL in rural TN? I know you’ve got some stories!
